Pay HOA fees via credit card

The board are delighted to inform you that you can now pay your HOA fees via credit card (including Visa). Please visit our forms page for a direct link. We do however encourage that a direct pay is the best way to ensure your payments are made on time and without the risk of missed payments.

Holiday Open House

Mrs. Rebecca one of our owners will be running an open house in the clubhouse on the 23rd September 2009 from 6:00pm to 7:30pm. Come along and get prepared for the Holiday season with her. She will share ideas and have holiday items on display. You are all welcome to go along.

Vacant Pools

There have been reports of some vacant pools due to foreclosures. The board have received the information below and will be doing a survey to find these pools. Once we have more information we will be able to plan a path forward. The main issue will be if the power is also cut and the pump will not circulate the water.

BARTOW | Polk County Code Enforcement Director Sherry Sheffield is getting 30 or 40 calls a month about green, algae-choked swimming pools at vacant, abandoned or foreclosed homes all over Polk County.

Now she has a way to respond to the complaints.
Last week the County Commission approved an ordinance that will allow county code enforcement officials to declare such pools a "nuisance" and to make the owners correct the problem.
"We didn't have anything before we could use," Sheffield said, adding she expects to obtain good cooperation from banks to get compliance.
Banks are important players because many of the homes that generate the complaints are in foreclosure.
Commissioner Jean Reed said she heard the same thing at a recent Florida Association of Counties meeting.
Sheffield said concerns involve esthetics and health issues, primarily mosquitoes.
She said the main concern involves pools that are not screened and cases in which the screen has been damaged.
Commissioner Randy Wilkinson attempted to amend the ordinance to exempt screened pools because there would not be a mosquito problem.
However, there was testimony at Wednesday's public hearing that even unkempt screened pools could resemble "Jurassic Park."
And Sheffield said she recalled a case where a child drowned in one of these pools and the body was not discovered for weeks because of the algae and debris in the pool.
Sheffield said in cases where the home's owner isn't cooperative, they would have the pools treated with chlorine and would board up the enclosure to secure the pool.
She said they had no plans to force property owners to drain pools or to take any similar action.
She added her staff, which is expected to be further reduced by coming county budget cuts, will respond only to complaints and will not be actively seeking pools to cite under the ordinance.
Commission Chairman Sam Johnson said he supported the idea, but said he had some misgivings about how far the county was going in regulating how people live.
"We add one more (regulation) here and one more there, so everyone lives like me," he said, referring to the kind of restrictions that are part of homeowner association rules.
Anyone who has a complaint about an unkempt pool in unincorporated Polk County can call Polk County Code Enforcement at 863-534-5064.

UK Meeting 2009

We are please to announce that the UK Manors Meet up is back again for another year. Once again we will be having an informal get together at the Mill Green Golf Club, Hertfordshire to discuss the Manors at Westridge, what's been going on behind the scenes and what is planned for the future. We would encourage as many owners to attend as possible and join in with the proceedings. However if you can not attend then please send us any questions you may have via the contact form. It is better to let us know the questions before hand so we can get the right information for you than ask on the day and we have to get back to you.

Happy New Year

Rebecca Shupe, an owner on our community, will be hosting a skin care class in the club house on 14th January 2009 at 7pm. You are invited to come along and enjoy a complimentary facial.

HOA Fees

In the AGM it was disclosed that the HOA fees will have to increase slightly to $345.00 effective 01/01/09. You will receive more info via the post but if you do  not then please contact Don Asher to make sure that your payment goes through and is correct. This is the first increase in fees for a long time and we hope you will understand it is a necessary one to keep the standards high. Owners who pay via direct debit/direct pay will have their fee increased automatically and there is no need to instruct your bank.

Owners Mailing List

To help with communication we have added a mailing list feature to the website. This is only meant for owners and will be used when there is an update to the site or some other Manors News. However it is NOT a replacement for the Manors Census which is the OFFICIAL owner information database and will be used as first point of contact for official business. So please complete the Manors Census and sign up for the Latest News mailing list.

Manors Census - Very Very Important

It is difficult sometimes to contact the home owners as we don't have all their latest contact details due to villas changing ownership and owners changing their contact details. Therefore if your details have changed in the last year (2008) or you have never completed the form please take a few minutes to complete the latest contact information form so that we can update our records. It is especially important if the home has been sold or bought recently.

If you know other owners on the Manors why not prompt them to do the same as it will help us all.
